Jimmy Crowe is my first cousin once removed. He served in the U.S. Navy on the submarine USS MG Vallejo from 1974 to 1976. He died on June 7, 1978, two days after a head-on collision with a tractor-trailer on Interstate 70 in Indianapolis. This obituary is unidentified and undated, but is likely from the Indianapolis Star. He is buried at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Indianapolis.
Services for James M. Crowe, 23, 4235 Burkhardt Drive, a mechanic the last year at Compressed Air Systems, will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in G.H. Herrmann South East Street Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He died yesterday in Community Hospital. A Vietnam Navy veteran, he was a member of American Legion Post 88. There will be a prayer service tomorrow at 8 p.m. in the funeral home, where friends may call tomorrow after 4 p.m. Survivors — parents Mr. and Mrs. Harold Crowe; sister Catherine Probasko [sic], brothers Harold Crowe III, Tom, K[ev]in, Christopher.
