Ray Freidel was nominated for commander of Roy Anderson Post, American Legion last night, in the general nomination of candidates for post offices the election to be held at the next regular meeting of the post next month. As this was the only nomination for commander made, the election of Freidel is practically assured.
R. R. Fribourghouse and Gregg Evans were nominated as candidates for vice commander, O. E. Lincoln and H. H. Ibach as candidates for adjutant, Greg Hintgen for finance officer, Patrick Brennan as service officer, R. R. Milliken as historian and Ole Gunderson as sergeant at arms.
The nomination of officers comprised practically the only business transacted at the meeting which was followed by the usual lunch and social time.
I purchased roughly 25 original issues of the Yankton (South Dakota) Press & Dakotan, dating from 1938 to 1946. I am systematically going through every issue and will be posting the articles that include the names of individuals. I am happy to email full-size scans of any article. Feel free to ask.
